Into its second reprint, this exhaustive edition begins with a straightforward examination of the artist’s drawings and paintings, in the essay by Pritwish Neogy. A note on ‘Art and Tradition’ by Tagore himself is a valuable addition to the volume. Other writings more specific to the art itself are by the noted painter K G Subramaniam and Ratan Parimoo, its editor.
