The current work, Manjit Bawa, is the first title under the series ‘Readings’. Works in this umbrella series are a collation of reviews, articles, catalogue essays, and excerpts from memoirs. The current title maps out the Manjit Bawa’s art journey from 1960, coinciding with his maiden exhibition. The compilation is done by biographer and script writer Ina Puri, a close associate and frequent curator for Bawa’s shows. Her astute selection of appreciative writings, interviews, essays, and exhibition reviews for this volume, penned by contemporaries, seniors and experts, gives the volume its scholastic ouevre, as well as a flesh-and-blood feel of Bawa’s persona, bringing alive the artistic sensibilities of the famed artist.
