National Awardee Shitangshu G. Maurya faces the camera on receiving the prestigious award
Shitangshu Maurya:The National Award for me is a case of being ‘first time lucky’. For the past eight years I have been working on the current series in my sculptural practice and each year I have worked to perfect technique and other experimental angles. This was the first time I had sent the work for a National Award and you can see the result. I am convinced that I will always work around ceramic in my art practice as that is what has brought me recognition.
